Originally called Nemesis II, this was Thomas Bergersen's first solo album. It was released on June 22nd, 2011, soon after Two Steps From Hell released its first public album, Invincible. The album reached number one on the iTunes world music charts internationally.
It has more tracks with vocals than any other public album in the Two Steps From Hell discography, with 17. Though some songs remain uncredited, no less than six vocalists are credited: Vladislava Vasileva, Kate St. Pierre, Merethe Soltvedt, Jenifer Thigpen, Elista Todorova and Colin O'Malley. Cellist Tina Guo also appeared on Promise and Gift of Life.

Trivia[]
- A handful of the songs featured here were released as singles prior to the release: A Place in Heaven, Starvation, Promise and Ocean Princess.
- The covers of these singles consist of 4 different recoloured versions of the bottom-left corner of the Mystical Beginnings/All Drones go to Hell cover.
- Jenifer Thigpen would appear as a vocalist again on Vanquish, making her one of only three vocalists to appear on both a Two Steps from Hell album and a solo album, along with Aya Peard and Merethe Soltvedt.
- Nemesis II was at some point going to be subtitled Legend.
